Involving the community
Community engagement is an important part of SIHIP. Before any work starts, the government and alliances will work together and talk to people in each community about a range of things including:
- Land use and area planning;
- Housing mix, design, priorities and options;
- Jobs and training opportunities; and
- How local businesses can benefit.
Housing Reference Groups (HRGs) are being established in each community to work with government and ensure local communities have input to decisions about housing in their community.
