About SIHIP

The Strategic Indigenous Housing and Infrastructure Program (SIHIP) is one of the largest investments by the Australian and Northern Territory Governments in Indigenous housing.

Under SIHIP, 73 remote communities and some urban community living areas across the Northern Territory will receive improved housing and related infrastructure, conditional upon secure land tenure arrangements.

Better housing:

Governments and the alliances will work closely with communities to ensure the best outcomes are achieved for each community.

SIHIP is a part of Remote Housing NT, a key reform program to help close the gap of Indigenous disadvantage across the Territory.

The $672 million program is jointly funded by the Australian and Northern Territory Governments and will be delivered by 2013.
