Territory Housing understands that the housing needs of tenants can change during their tenancy. Therefore there are many schemes that allow tenants to transfer from the public housing home originally allocated to them, to another home that suits their current needs.
To be successful in receiving a transfer, tenants need to let Territory Housing know the reasons why the move is necessary. Reasons may be because the number of people living in the home or because the current home is affecting health or placing the tenant at risk on domestic violence.
Tenants requesting a transfer need to complete the Transfer Application form and deliver to a local Territory Housing office.
If a transfer is approved, the tenant will be added to the waiting list for a home suitable to their requirements. Transfer applications are treated in the same way as all other applications.
