How to apply

Before you start looking for a home you need to work out what you can afford to buy.

The first step is to contact TIO, who manages and administers HOMESTART NT on behalf of the Territory Government. The TIO consultant can give you more information and make an appointment to lodge an application. TIO will check your credit history and calculate the maximum loan amount you can afford based on your current income and expenditure.

If the loan is approved, TIO will arrange an ‘Approval in Principle’ letter to assist you when you are looking for a home to buy.

For further information on how to apply download the fact sheet Applying for a HOMESTART NT loan and the Application checklist.

Contact TIO on 1300 301 833 or visit your nearest branch.
