Bellamack HomeFirst affordable house and land packages lots released for ballot

The first 12 lots allocated for affordable house and land packages at the new Palmerston suburb of Bellamack have been released and are being sold to provide affordable home ownership opportunities for Territorians earning low to middle incomes.

The lots range in size from 480sqm to 578sqm and are suitable for two and three bedroom homes. House and land packages are available between $338,000 and $381,000.

The sale ensures eligible first home buyers access to the Federal Government’s First Home Owner’s initiative and non-first home buyers access to the Territory Government’s Buildstart Scheme.

They will be sold by ballot, with building contracts to be signed by 31 December 2009. This will allow:

  • first home buyers to benefit from both the First Home Owners Grant of $7000 and the First Home Owners Boost of $7000
  • non-first home buyers to benefit from the Territory Government's $14,000 Buildstart Scheme which also expires on 31 December 2009.

Bellamack is the first of four new suburbs for Palmerston which will feature 670 lots. To help more Territorians own their home, 67 of these will be allocated as affordable housing.
