In the Territory, water is vital to the hot harsh climate we live in. The wet season provides an abundance of rain but when it comes to turning on taps at home it costs money. Leaking taps and pipes waste this valuable resource.
Melissa Cox works as the Senior Housing Coordinator with Roper Gulf Regional Authority. She described some of the commercial operations work she does for housing and maintenance in Beswick, Barunga, Weemol, Bulman, Eva Valley, Binjari, Jilkmingan, Minyerri, Ngukurr, Numbulwar and Rittarangu.

Former Department of Housing client Casey Anderson is a shining example of making the most of your opportunities. In 2009 Casey was a 23 year old single mother and began a journey that would take her from public housing tenant to proud home owner. Through hard work, determination and support from the department, she was able to reach her goal of home ownership.
